Sarah is an Associate at Kagan Shastri DeMelo Winer Park LLP practicing primarily in the areas of land use planning, municipal law, and civil litigation. She articled at the firm between 2019-2020 after working as a summer student. Sarah was called to the bar in June 2022.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
She obtained her LL. B. from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. She earned a Master of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. During her time at the University of Leicester, Sarah participated in the University of Leicester’s Pro Bono Club providing free legal services to community members and was an active member of the University of Leicester’s Canadian Law Society.
At Osgoode, Sarah was an active member of the LAWS Society (Law in Action Within Schools), a youth outreach program that exposes high school students to legal thinking and the justice system through workshops, mentorship, and employment programs to those facing barriers to post secondary access. She was also an active member of the Barbra Schlifer Community Clinic providing legal counselling and interpretation services to marginalized and racialized populations of women who have survived domestic violence.
Sarah has appeared before various courts and tribunals, including: The Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Smalls Claims Court, the Ontario Land Tribunal, and the Landlord and Tenant Board.
